Good Shepherd Children’s Village
We come alongside the Haitian people to help them attain a sustainable life and a real hope for the future
The Good Shepherd Children’s Village is located just outside of Gonaives, Haiti, in the small village of Marose. This was the site of a destructive hurricane in 2004. The floods from this hurricane left thousands dead and even more homeless. It was out of this disaster that New Generation Ministries partnered with a local pastor, Nathan Chariot, to care for the orphans in this community in accordance with God’s word. The Good Shepherd Children’s Village is “Not an orphanage” in the common institutional understanding of the word, it is “a Village” where children can nurture and grow in a healthy “family” way. 6 to 8 children live in each room with a full-time, live-in nanny to care for them. The Good Shepherd Children’s Village operates from a “Child Safety Program” that addresses all aspects of raising children in a Godly, Biblical manner. This program includes:
• Educational • Nutritional • Hygiene • Security • Sexual • Emotional • Spiritual
As a result of your help, 68 children and 10 dedicated adults live in The Good Shepherd Children’s Village full time. Food, clean drinking water, clothing, medicine, and schooling are provided daily in their brand new facility.
